Miele at Achema 2015: New lab washers, process chemicals and more

Gütersloh/Frankfurt, May 7, 2015 No. 062/2015

New undercounter models with variable basket system

Miele Professional is set to launch a product offensive at Achema 2015 presenting a new generation of high-performance lab washers, together with matching process chemicals (June 15-19, Hall 4.1, Booth H 15).

The current generation of undercounter models will for the first time feature a patented, variable-speed circulation pump which adjusts water pressure to the needs of individual programme phases and ensures analytically pure laboratory glassware reprocessed in up to four injector modules per cycle. Compared with the previous generation, these new machines offer significant capacity increases. The discontinuation of exposed heater elements in the chamber together with a new load carrier system guarantees superb loading flexibility. Up to 71 different load combinations are possible, including configurations for reprocessing 128 laboratory phials or 98 pipettes in a single cycle.

Both water and drying air is now introduced into load carriers via a docking system at the rear of the unit. This minimises pressure losses in the water circuit and optimises the supply of air for drying. A special feature: Any valves not used by docked baskets are sealed automatically in order to avoid any unnecessary drop in pressure in the remaining system and to reduce water consumption. In combination with a choice of two drying systems and various control functions, the increased performance and capacity of these new machines can be used to the full – including on a 90 cm wide model due to be launched in August.

The latter model, the PG 8583 CD, features a pull-out side cabinet for the ergonomic storage of liquid detergent and neutralising agent. Miele Professional will be offering its own process chemicals from autumn 2015 onwards under the ProCare Lab label: Not only will they be formulated to meet the needs of the new lab washers, they will also guarantee the thorough but gentle reprocessing of laboratory glassware. Automatic and safe dispensing of liquids is ensured by dispenser modules which also monitor the level of product in the canisters.

Anyone needing practical tips for laboratory glassware reprocessing is advised to turn to the Internet (www.aklab.de) where a 76-page brochure on the reprocessing of laboratory glassware is available as a free download in German and English from June 2015 onwards. This publication brings together the expert knowledge of Miele Professional, the Hamburg-based process chemicals manufacturer Dr. Weigert and the Duran Group (laboratory glassware) from Mainz as the founding members of the lab glassware reprocessing working group (AK LAB).
