From cashmere pullover to down-filled duvet, from ball-gown to theatre costume: 25 years ago, such delicate items were considered 'non-washable'. That changed radically, though, when Miele and the Wiesbaden-based textile chemistry specialist Kreussler, both family-owned companies with a tradition spanning more than 100 years, developed a new wet-cleaning system.
Clients of the Bliemel dry-cleaning company often travel long distances to get to the store of their choice. The 128-year-old company in Frankfurt/Oder is one of only a few in the region offering wet cleaning – for exclusive suits and dresses, hiking jackets and even tents.
The world's first wet-cleaning system celebrates 25 this year: What was first jointly presented by Miele and Kreussler in 1991 is today an integral part of modern textile care. Jürgen Schäfer, Chief Product Manager - Laundry Technology with Miele Professional, and Dr Helmut Eigen, Director of Textile Care at Kreussler, discuss milestones, trends and prospects.
Miele Professional now offers the first heat-pump dryers for clients with limited space and large volumes of laundry to process: The PT 8203 WP from the SlimLine series cuts energy costs by half and, thanks to a width of only 71 cm, fits through doors and into confined spaces with ease. This is facilitated by a new heat-pump module which is now fully integrated into the dryer itself.
Perfectly laundered textiles guarantee customer satisfaction – and smooth, glossy flatware makes a lasting impression on guests. That's why Miele Professional offers high-performance and easy-to-use ironers to meet individual requirements, ranging from compact models through to large and convenient flatwork ironers guaranteeing a high throughput of up to 200 kg of laundry per hour.
Washing machines and tumble dryers from Miele Professional are incredibly robust, fast and easy to operate – and are ideally suited for use in coin-op launderettes. In many countries, smaller companies and larger chains place their trust in Miele.
