Improve your business with perfectly laundered flatwork – and Miele Professional

Gütersloh/Frankfurt, June 11, 2016 No. 068/2016

Large selection of machines: Flexible and top-class performance

Perfectly laundered textiles guarantee customer satisfaction – and smooth, glossy flatware makes a lasting impression on guests. That's why Miele Professional offers high-performance and easy-to-use ironers to meet individual requirements, ranging from compact models through to large and convenient flatwork ironers guaranteeing a high throughput of up to 200 kg of laundry per hour.

With roller lengths of between 100 cm and 166 cm, three compact models represent the ideal match for small to medium-size laundries. The operating height is adjustable by up to 16 cm to suit the stature of users. These models can all be operated by a single person. The PM 1217 (166 cm roller length) also allows fast switch-over between return- and through-feed operation to afford great flexibility in everyday work. Return feed in this size category is exclusive to Miele and is patents-pending. All three ironers are very simple to operate thanks to their new touch display, allowing temperatures and ironing speeds to be regulated with precision.

Miele Professional's high-performance flatwork ironers set standards in terms of throughput and efficiency: Depending on the model, these machines can process over 200 kg of laundry per hour – or far more than a tonne a day! The touch display presenting all machine parameters allows the machine to adapt fast to different fabrics. As contact pressure can be adjusted, multi-ply items such as heavy cotton tablecloths can be ironed just as well as thinner fabrics. Similarly, temperatures and roller speeds are adjustable. A prompt in the display reminds users to clean and wax the trough.

Further recommendations on the subject of laundry finish are provided by a video on Miele Professional's YouTube channel. In less than ten minutes, viewers can gather useful hints on the preparation of laundry and the ironing process itself. A closing section covers machine care and maintenance and provides assistance in tackling problems. One central issue is residual moisture: This should be in the range between 25% and 50%, which can best be achieved using a tumble dryer with automatic sensor drying. Valuable working time can be saved by sorting textiles before the wash process. Hard-wearing cottons and linen items can be ironed fast at 180°C; more heat-sensitive synthetic fibres should not be subjected to more than 140°C.

Staff training can be provided by Miele's in-house service operation which, in Germany alone, has approx. 160 technicians devoted to commercial laundry products. This tight network ensures short distances, low call-out charges and, above all, a fast response within 24 hours.
