• More than 15,000 employee anniversaries worldwide so far

At Miele, 188 employees have received awards for decades of service to the company. 54 of them can look back on 40 years of employment with Miele; 134 staff members have been with Miele for 25 years. At the celebrations in the Miele Forum, members of the Executive Board congratulated the long-serving staff members in person.

'In recent decades, you have actively contributed towards Miele's excellent growth. That is something we, but in particular you, can be especially proud of', Dr. Markus Miele stressed in his speech on behalf of the Executive Board. He took guests on a journey through time, back to the years they entered Miele employment, by citing events in world history and milestones from the company's own timeline. In closing, he quoted the Italian poet Dante with an adage which underlines Miele's corporate 'Immer Besser' motto: 'The one waits for the times to change; the other sets to work and acts'.

One example of someone who rolled up her sleeves is Cristina Reque Kilchenmann, who presented her own retrospective of 25 years so far with Miele. On behalf of all participants, she thanked the Board for the invitation to the anniversary celebrations. After her apprenticeship and her studies at Madrid University, she joined Miele's Spanish subsidiary as Product Manager for domestic appliances and is today Director Marketing Miele Iberia covering Spain and Portugal. 'I am certain that I speak on behalf of all those celebrating here today when I say that we all still feel enthusiastic and motivated after 25 years, and that it fills us with pride to have the honour to work for this company', she claimed. 'Thank you for today's tributes, thanks for the trust, thanks for the opportunity to be a part of the Miele family!'.

83 of the employees awarded for long service work at production plants in Gütersloh, Bielefeld, Bürmoos in Austria, Euskirchen, Lehrte, Oelde and Warendorf as well as at Central Headquarters and at Miele's German sales subsidiary. 105 employees come from the company's subsidiaries in 21 further countries. Several present actually celebrated their 'jubilee' over the past two years. The company only this year caught up on celebrations postponed on account of Covid-19. With the ceremony, the number of employees who, in total, have received awards for long service with Miele, rose to 15,457 worldwide.

Company profile: Miele is the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances including cooking, baking and steam-cooking appliances, refrigeration products, coffee makers, dishwashers and laundry and floor care products.
