Miele set to enter new market segment with 'Active' dishwashers

Powerful, durable, convenient – and exceptionally good value for money:

Dishwashing with Miele is soon to be available at considerably reduced entry-line prices: New campaign models with the 'Active' sublogo, depending on the model type, will be available from as little as € 599 (RRP). Technically speaking, these correspond to previous entry-line models from the 4000 series, but with a price reduced by up to € 130. The 'Active' dishwasher campaign will run for 1 year.

These promotional models include all dishwasher types - from free-standing through to fully integrated models - and have a capacity of 13 or 14 place settings. They all offer 5 dishwashing programmes and the option of curtailing cycle times. Further convenience features include basket handles and ComfortClose which simplifies opening and closing the door. In addition to this, the door remains open in any chosen position.

Hinged spikes in the lower basket ensure greater loading flexibility. Depending on personal preferences, users can choose between a cutlery basket and Miele's patented cutlery drawer. And, what's more, the latter is available without any surcharge on free-standing and built-under models. Like all other dishwashers from Miele, 'Active' models stand for first-class cleaning and drying results and are tested to last 20 years. The energy efficiency rating is A+; sound emissions are only 46 dB.

'With this price-driven campaign, we are aiming to open up dishwashing with Miele to additional groups of consumers', says Gernot Trettenbrein, head of Domestic Appliances International within the Miele Group. Although Miele dishwashers have a legendary reputation in many young families, first-time buyers often still opt for a cheaper brand because of their strained finances.

'Miele is now seeking to stem this trend with its 'Active' models by offering a new and convincing alternative', Trettenbrein continues. And: 'We are absolutely convinced that these dishwashers will meet with an extremely positive response, both from dealers and end-users'.
