Combination steam cookers represent the pinnacle of cooking products as they combine a steam cooker and a wall oven in one single appliance. With the launch of Generation 6000 built-in appliances, Miele is augmenting its lineup in this product category.

These appliances best flaunt their potential when cooking food with a combination of dry, radiant heat and moisture. This method of combination cooking produces outstanding results and gives professional chefs plenty to rave about. The unchallenged star among combination steam ovens is Miele's DGC XL, a 48 l model with a motorised fascia panel, which has been on the market since 2010. This vertical-rise fascia is not only an eye-catching feature and a talking point, it also offers very practical benefits: The water tank and condensate container are integrated space-savingly behind the fascia panel, and water can be topped up quite simply without opening the appliance door. In terms of programmes and functions, the DGC XL offers all the operating modes of a high-end wall oven, alongside steam cooking.

And now this product family has grown: The new DGC XL offers all the essential features of its predecessor, including the lift fascia, the large cabinet, oven operating modes and powerful MultiSteam technology. The new model differs from the flagship offering mainly in terms of a conventional food probe instead of the wireless variety, SensorTronic controls as opposed to M Touch controls – and in terms of price.

A completely new entry is designed specifically for those new to the world of Miele combination steam cookers. This particular fully fledged steam cooker also offers the Fan Plus mode familiar from wall ovens. Cooking in combination mode produces exceptional baking and roasting results. And particularly successful recipes can be saved for future use. Alternatively, these models offer a series of automatic programmes. Given the cabinet volume of 33 l, Miele has chosen to adopt its tried-and-tested MonoSteam technology, with steam generated in a separate water tank. The DirectControl user interface features a 4-line TFT display and classic rotary selectors.
