New loading and unloading systems for large steam sterilisers from Miele Professional

Gütersloh/Düsseldorf, November 12, 2014 No. 161/2014

Multi-purpose use: Containers, baskets and load carriers

From 2015 onwards, Miele Professional will be offering its customers a new and comprehensive selection of loading and unloading systems for large steam sterilisers. And what's more: clients will be able to choose between manual and automatic systems as well as fixed-bed and height-adjustable devices. These new logistics systems can also be put to universal use as they are able to accommodate both sterile supply containers and wire baskets containing instruments wrapped in non-woven packaging.

Operation is extremely simple and convenient. The motorised height-adjustment feature represents a clear benefit in terms of ergonomics. Loading and unloading requires minimal physical effort as the table height can be adjusted to suit individual preferences. Smooth-running wheels on the load carrier ensure that it responds promptly to slight pressure and glides effortlessly into and out of the steriliser chamber.

Automatic logistics systems operate without any further involvement or supervision. Once containers, baskets or the load carrier have been positioned on the infeed conveyor by CSSD staff, automatic loading of the steriliser can continue after regular working hours.

Further productivity gains in CSSD accrue from the fact that baskets and containers can be placed directly on the infeed conveyor: The load carriers used in the more conventional approach do not need to be returned to the clean side after sterilisation. This saves time and cuts costs as well as saving space as there is no need for a sluice and numerous loading trolleys which take up valuable space.

All logistics systems are robustly built ensuring safe and reliable operation. The mechanical and electrical design also makes for fast maintenance. Each conveyor can be disengaged easily from the steriliser. And thanks to an automatic load positioning and guide system, load carriers, baskets and containers do not jam or protrude. This ensures smooth loading and unloading.
