System4Dent: Thermal disinfectors and the right process chemicals

Gütersloh/Cologne, March 10, 2015 No. 024/2015

Economical: Miele Professional as a full-range supplier

With System4Dent, Miele Professional is offering a complete system to ensure that work in dental surgeries is both economical and safe. New thermal disinfectors provide maximum reprocessing capacity, innovative drying concepts and superior user convenience.

The 60 cm wide thermal disinfectors feature a patented new circulation pump which adjusts spray pressure to the specific requirements of individual programme phases. This saves both water and energy. At the same time, these machines offer greater reprocessing capacity. The upper basket can for instance be fitted with 22 injector nozzles for lumened dental instruments such as saliva extractors, turbines or handpieces and contra-angles. A new reusable central filter reduces costs and delivers nearly 300% more filter surface area than the filter inserts used on previous models. This means that instruments are afforded the best possible protection against the ingress of foreign particles. Also new are the two innovative systems EcoDry and DryPlus, which provide enhanced instrument drying, and an automatic door-closing feature which offers top-class user convenience.

The new Miele PS 1201B EXCELLENCE steriliser is scheduled to hit the market in April 2015 and will feature a PerfectTouch display. This model is very simple to operate, and the smooth glass surface of its control panel is incredibly easy to clean and disinfect. The programme cycle times on the new steriliser are extremely short, with a 134°C B-class cycle for a 6 kg load lasting only 21 minutes. The quick programme for unwrapped instruments or handpieces and contra-angles takes just 13 minutes.

Miele Professional offers its customers a process documentation software program that carries the stamp of approval of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Certification by an independent authority is proof that the Segosoft Miele Edition 7 reliably protects data collected from reprocessing equipment in full accordance with internationally applicable criteria. The use of a digital signature, among other things, helps to guarantee that data remain safe.

Once reprocessing is complete, checking to determine whether cleaning and disinfecting were successful is easy. For these routine checks, Miele Professional offers its ProCare Protein Check set. This set, which has been in use at a large number of dental surgeries since early 2014, comes with three sticks containing a red test liquid that can determine the presence of protein residues on instruments within 3 minutes. There is enough liquid in the sticks to perform approximately 70 to 80 checks.

By offering the appropriate process chemicals (marketed under the name 'ProCare Dent'), and by ensuring rapid service response times, Miele Professional provides dental surgeries with their very own comprehensive product and service package. More than 180 Miele medical product technicians, the largest network of its kind in Germany, are also available to perform validations for machine-based reprocessing methods.
