Triple savings with washer-extractors with weighing system and water recovery

Gütersloh/Hamburg, March 13, 2015 No. 028/2015

Up to 46% reduced water consumption, depending on programme

An optional feature on washer-extractors from Miele Professional ensures greater efficiency in the use of water and energy: A combination of water recovery module and weighing system reduces the consumption on models with load capacities ranging from 10 kg to 32 kg, for example in on-premise laundries in hotels.

Just how much a water recovery module and a weighing system are able to save is best illustrated using the example of a PW 6207 washer-extractor with a 20 kg load capacity: Depending on the programme, potential savings amount to 10% lower detergent consumption and up to 14% energy reductions compared with the corresponding previous model. This is the result of optimised technology such as Profitronic M controls on the most recent range of machines, allowing a high degree of programme customisation.

Miele's patented load weighing system ensures that the use of resources is automatically tailored to the load in hand. The system registers the weight of the dry laundry and reduces both water intake and detergent quantities accordingly for a less-than-full load. This results in shorter heat-up and water intake times, reducing energy consumption all round.

Using the Profitronic M controls, the re-use of water can be defined to suit individual needs. Water from all programme blocks (pre-wash, main wash and individual rinse cycles) can be collected for re-use. This module consists of a filter to remove coarse soiling, the requisite pipework and a round stainless-steel tank. This tank with a capacity of 160 l is installed above the machine and provides wash liquor or rinse water at the appropriate programme stages. Careful water management inside the tank ensures automatic self-cleaning.
