120 years of Miele: Professional machines from Octoplus range offer greater capacity

Gütersloh, June 12, 2019 No. 56/2019
  • Washing machines and dryers now with 9 kg load capacity instead of 8 kg

  • Reduced consumption cuts energy costs

To mark the company's 120th birthday, Miele is further improving the specifications of its washers and dryers from the successful Octoplus series: Without any increase in price, the load capacity has been upped from a previous 8 kg to 9 kg.

With a footprint of just over 0.5 m², these machines bridge the gap between the smallest Professional laundry machines from Miele (Little Giants) and the Benchmark series which starts with a load capacity of 11 kg. Octoplus washing machines and dryers have proved their worth in all cases where the focus is on the fast, reliable and economic care of medium-size laundry volumes, for instance in hotels, restaurants, laundries, nursing homes and by contract cleaners as well as in many other commercial operations.

Top-notch results with an unchanged drum volume of 80 l are guaranteed by washing and drying processes which Miele has honed over the years: Now for example, the amount of water entering the washing machine is used to determine the weight of the laundry load. In combination with intelligent water inlet controls, this further optimises the rinse process. On the dryer, Miele's PerfectDry electronic sensor-controlled drying guarantees that laundry comes out neither overdried nor with damp patches.

On Series 120 models, pre-configured programme packages are available to cater for a very broad range of applications. Depending on the model version, the user can select from more than 70 washing and 40 drying cycles. Finely tuned process technology ensures low energy costs: Compared with the previous generation of washers, the specific consumption on the new XL class has been reduced by up to 3% whilst energy consumption has dropped by up to 8%.

It goes without saying that these Octoplus machines are fully compliant with the EU Machinery Directive and hence designed for use in commercial operations.
