360PRO from Miele: Connectivity-ready and powerful thermal disinfectors with innovative features

Gütersloh/Cologne, March 14, 2023 No. 024/2023
  • Integration into a surgery network or connection to Miele MOVE online portal

  • Washing and disinfecting the cannulae of multi-function syringes

  • Space-saving holder for nitrous oxide sets

Catering for various disciplines in dental medicine and instrument loads, Miele now offers its 360PRO system. One integral part of this system are high-performance thermal disinfectors with innovative features in which for example the reusable hoses and masks used in nitrous oxide sedation can be cleaned and disinfected. All machines can be integrated into an existing surgery network and can be connected online to the Miele MOVE portal.

From April thermal disinfectors from the current model generation will be factory-fitted with WLAN and Ethernet capability. The Miele MOVE online portal, which has already been activated in many countries (cf. Press release No. 026/2023), will in future facilitate the integration of thermal disinfectors, small sterilisers and other commercial machines into a network accessible from a PC or a mobile device. At a glance, users can establish whether reprocessing was successful.

To clean the cannulae on multifunction syringes, used to introduce air and water into the mouth during treatment, Miele has developed the A 865 adapter. This is compatible with various sizes and geometries and guarantees a secure hold for cannulae in the upper and lower baskets. If needed, 44 injector nozzles for the reliable internal cleaning of lumened instruments are available.

Trays and cartridges in which instruments are reprocessed and stored have become indispensable in everyday surgery life. To meet particularly high demands, above all in the surgical area and in implantology, Miele has designed its new A 317 insert. All holders can, if required, be inclined to now allow 12 trays to be accommodated in the lower basket – twice as many as previously. A further six trays fit into the upper basket. If, at peak times, particularly large trays have to be cleaned in countertop units, the new insert also ensures greater flexibility.

Where phobic patients have to be treated with laughing gas, reprocessing reusable double hoses and masks presents an additional challenge. From early 2022, Miele will be offering a space-saving solution: A holder which can hold up to two hoses with a capacity that can even be increased to five double hose sets. The hoses are connected using adapters to the injector nozzles and routed past all the other inserts in a slightly inclined holder. This ensures reliable cleaning and drying of all internal and external surfaces. A matching mesh tray is available for reprocessable patients' masks. This leaves sufficient space for lumened items, e.g. transmission instruments, and further items in the same cycle, hence this approach does not interfere with general reprocessing.

In addition, the tips of air and piezo scalers can be connected to the water supply in the upper basket. An improved adapter accommodates more tips than was previously the case, in particular ones with a lower section which was too long or too thick for the previous adapter.

If many suction cannulae are used, these can also be placed in the APWD 329 insert. Here, lumened instruments are held upright and secure, increasing the maximum capacity several fold: The insert offers space for up to 80 cannulae. Surgical suction cannulae represent an exception as these must be reprocessed on injector nozzles.
