A fresh breath of air in the kitchen

Gütersloh/Berlin, September 2, 2015 No. 100/2015

Miele brings elegance, individuality and energy efficiency to cooker hoods

Never before have cooker hoods played such a central role in kitchen design – be it as eye-catcher or in a more subdued role behind the scenes in a bid to let kitchen cabinetry speak for itself. New powerful models from Miele interpret the concept of introducing a breath of fresh air to the kitchen in widely different ways.

Ceiling extractors – Efficient ventilation technology in a discreet guise

Almost invisible in the kitchen, the new ceiling extractor is 90 cm long but has a depth of only 50 cm. This allows these units not only to be installed in the ceiling above a cooking island but also to be attractively fitted in wall panelling above a hob. With an A+ on the label, these Miele models are in the best energy efficiency category for extractors. A DC Eco motor and four long-life, flush-fitted LED downlights make a considerable contribution towards keeping down energy consumption. In 'Intensive', the setting which best pairs up with searing meat down on the hob, this Miele extractor has a maximum airflow rate of 750 m³/h. And, what's more, the new models go about their work very quietly indeed: At the frequently used Setting 3, sound emissions are no more than 57 dB (A).

Ex works, these Miele units come pre-fitted with Miele's smart Con@ctivity 2.0, allowing hood-to-hob communication and suction power to adjust automatically to activities down on the hob. The new ceiling extractor (DA 2806) is available in brilliant white and stainless steel and is suitable for use in vented and recirculation mode. Connection to an external fan unit is also possible.

The Next Step to greater weightlessness

Lightness and levitation is self-confidently showcased by the new DA 5796 W Next Step cooker hood from Miele. The slim canopy and the 90 cm wide glass screen seem to merge on this model intended for wall

The DA 5796 W, too, achieves top ratings on the energy label: An A+ for energy efficiency, an A for best possible grease separation and, when it comes to sound emissions, this extractor is pleasantly quiet with a sound power rating of only 55 dB (dB(A) re1pW).

The Next Step also boasts the intelligent Con@ctivity 2.0 feature. Operation is possible in either vented or recirculation mode; one model is also designed for combination with an external fan.

Cooktop extractors – Individual sets of cooking products with an integrated downdraught extractor

A cooking centre to one's own liking is now one step closer with four new sets which combine much-loved CombiSet modules with a new cooktop extractor. This extractor draws in steam and vapours at the height at which they occur. To improve extraction even further, the cooktop extractor is positioned centrally between the two CombiSet units, while technical components disappear discreetly in the cabinet below.

Alongside the cooktop extractor, Set 1 comprises two induction hob units with two rings each, one of which is designed as a casserole zone. Set 2 combines a cooktop extractor with a two-ring induction hob on the one side and a TepanYaki stainless-steel contact grill on the other. It is also possible to combine an induction hob, a cooktop extractor and an induction wok. Last but not least, another set is to be introduced with two hob units with conventional radiant rings.
