A talent for keeping things hot – and for cooking

Neue Gourmet-Wärmeschublade

New Gourmet warmer drawers from Miele even suitable for low-temperature cooking

Warmer drawers are an expression of refined dining and perfectly complement primary appliances such as ovens, steam cookers and coffee machines. The Miele models from the Generation 6000 seamlessly blend in with the PureLine and ContourLine ranges in the product portfolio. And they are veritable all-round talents, with the new Gourmet warmer drawers even doubling up as perfect cooking appliances.

The main purpose of a warmer drawer is, of course, to keep cooked food hot and to pre-heat table crockery and cups. Well-versed chefs, however, have discovered a broad range of other applications: Proving dough, making yoghurt, defrosting food and melting chocolate or gelatine is a delight in a warmer drawer.

Indeed, Miele is now going one step further by actually recommending its Gourmet warmer drawers for low-temperature or 'slow' cooking. This prolonged and gentle cooking at low temperatures of, for example, cuts of meat after searing on the hob produces delectable results as Miele's models are able to maintain a steady temperature over an extended period of time. Models from the Generation 6000 even have their own programme, specially designed for low-temperature cooking and indicated by an appropriate symbol on the control panel. And to ease consumers into the world of 'slow' cooking, Miele has put together a detailed cookery book containing a wealth of recipes, tips and tricks. A copy is included with each Gourmet warmer drawer.
Gourmet warmer drawers are available with a height of 14 and 29 cm. These sizes were deliberately chosen to complement other products such as wall ovens and steam cookers. In each case, a couplet of products fills a typical cabinetry recess.

To ensure a fleet design in combination with other Miele built-in appliances, the 14 cm warmer drawer will be available in two versions – one each with wide and narrow decorative trim. The drawers feature push-to-open action, obviating the need for handles. The 29 cm model from the PureLine design line features the handle characteristic for this range. With its full stainless-steel front and a wide handle, the ContourLine version underlines the traditional character of this design line.
