After 10 years at the helm of Miele's German sales subsidiary, Christian Gerwens is now handing responsibility over to Frank Jüttner, previously head of Professional sales at Miele Germany. Gerwens himself will assume responsibility for Miele markets in North and South America, Africa and Australia/New Zealand. He will retain his office in Gütersloh.

Christian Gerwens is 48 years of age and commenced his employment with Miele as a post-graduate trainee. After several managerial roles in sales, Miele Management appointed him to the post of Managing Director of Miele Germany in 2002. Under his leadership, Miele turnover on its home market grew from EUR 700 m to more than EUR 900 m generated by around 1500 employees in Marketing and Service. At the same time, Miele was able to further demonstrate its closeness to customers through numerous awards for service excellence, brand image and the quality of its relationship to specialist retailers.

'We are pleased at having won Christian Gerwens, who has managed and grown Miele Germany with great success, for our international activities', says Dr Heiner Olbrich, Miele Group Board Member for Marketing and Sales. 'His sales expertise and his experience in providing guidance to staff and developing our largest subsidiary will be of great value in expanding our market presence in high-potential regions in his new territory.'

Frank Jüttner, 47, was previously employed in the furniture industry before joining Miele in 1992 as sales representative. Since 2002, he has been responsible for Professional sales within Germany to commercial enterprises and medical institutions.

'Frank Jüttner has been in the inner circle of management at Miele Germany for more than 10 years', says Heiner Olbrich: 'Consequently, he is highly conversant with the company, the brand and strategic and operative aspects of his new position.'
