Change in the Executive Board at Miele

Gütersloh, 29 June 2026 No. 047/2026

Dr. Stefan Breit, Executive Director Technology at the Miele Group, will step down from his position next year. After 20 years with the company and 11 years on the Executive Board, he will leave his role in the summer of 2027, upon turning 60. Miele is announcing the change more than a year in advance in order to carefully plan the succession process and ensure an orderly handover of departmental responsibilities. This approach builds on the company’s established practice of managing leadership transitions in good time, in an orderly manner and with a forward-looking approach.

Stefan Breit joined Miele in 2007, initially holding various positions as plant and product division manager, and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2016. His work has played a key role in establishing Miele as an innovation leader in the field of domestic appliance technology and in advancing the company’s competitiveness. A comprehensive tribute to his achievements will be published in due course.

Until his departure, Dr. Breit will retain full responsibility for the company’s technological development, working alongside the management team. All current and scheduled projects, including the product and innovation roadmap, will continue as planned.

The Miele Group is managed by a six-member Executive Board with equal rights, with Dr. Markus Miele and Dr. Reinhard Zinkann as representatives of the owner families (Executive Directors and Co-Proprietors), as well as four non-family Executive Directors, each with departmental responsibility. In addition to Stefan Breit, these are Stefan Koss (Finance & Administration), Dr. Axel Kniehl (Marketing & Sales) and Rebecca Steinhage (Human Resources & Corporate Affairs).
