Convenient and efficient reprocessing of glassware in Miele large-chamber laboratory glasswashers

Gütersloh/Munich, June 21, 2022 No. 047/2022
  • Height-adjustable trolley reduces levels of physical strain

  • Capacity for small and medium-size lab glassware items increased by 50%

With large-chamber laboratory glasswashers from the PLW 86 series, Miele has been offering a high-performance series since 2019 which, thanks to the EasyLoad accessory system, is fast and simple to load. New loading trolleys increase the capacity of units and make for stress-free working conditions – even for persons of short stature.

New programme versions and higher pump speeds ensure reliability in reprocessing. Consequently, glasswashers adapt flexibly to the needs of large laboratories and result in highly efficient operation. This is achieved in particular through the use of a variable-speed circulation pump able to adjust speeds to the needs of programme cycles. During the main wash, full power is applied, whereas power is reduced in the rinse cycle that follows. The controls, too, adapt to changing load situations, reducing not only water consumption but also electricity and detergent use.

The height of the ATT 86 trolley is automatically and infinitely adjustable within a range of 40 cm, allowing all members of a laboratory's staff to reach the upper rack levels with ease. To assist with the motorised raising and lowering of loads, an easy-to-use set of hand controls is available. The trolley is designed to take loads with a maximum weight of 95 kg, noticeably simplifying everyday working life.

The APLW 511 loading carriage accommodates up to nine modules on three levels, enabling the reliable cleaning of a wide variety of laboratory glasses both inside and out. The cleaning of inner surfaces is achieved using injector nozzles integrated into the modules. These fit in the new APLW 511 load carrier and dock directly onto the water circuit. This makes for even more flexible use of the proven EasyLoad system. In addition, it offers considerably greater capacity than before. This way, 324 bottles with a volume of 100 ml can be washed and dried in a single load – or, alternatively, 216 of the same bottles plus 294 phials. The bottom line is an increase in load capacity of more than 50%, above all when reprocessing small and medium-size items of laboratory glassware.
