Miele Professional at IDS 2017

At the IDS exhibition, Miele Professional is due to present innovative solutions providing greater efficiency in dental practices: for example with the latest reprocessing technology, matching process chemicals and the premiere of a new app allowing cycle protocols to be wirelessly documented (March 21-25 in Building O050/P051).

'We will be offering our clients a simple, safe and cost-effective way of collating reprocessing data', explains Michael Sedlag, Head of Medical Technology at Miele Professional. The app is designed to run on mobile devices and communicates with machines from the current model generation. First and foremost, it represents an alternative to the usual practice of gathering cycle protocols on a USB flash memory: 'That always means having to unplug the device and the hassle of taking it to a computer', says Sedlag.

High-performance undercounter thermal disinfectors from Miele also stand for efficiency in everyday working life. Automatic door closure on these models offers top-flight user convenience, and the two innovative systems EcoDry and DryPlus guarantee the excellent drying of instruments. A reusable tubular filter eliminates the cost of consumables, providing a surface area which is almost four times that of the individual filter inserts on previous models. This way, even better protection against the ingress of small particles into instruments is ensured.

The new models also benefit from an increase in capacity, with 22 injector nozzles in the upper basket now available for reprocessing saliva extractors or hand-pieces and contra-angles. New adapters also facilitate the reliable internal cleaning of ultra-sound tips as well as hand-pieces and contra-angles with an external spray channel. 'Thanks to this and further baskets and inserts, the entire range of dental instruments can be safely washed and disinfected in Miele machines', says Michael Sedlag.

With this lineup, Miele is offering a comprehensive and individual package of products and services. This package also includes matching process chemicals from the ProCare Dent range – and the peace of mind provided by a team of 240 Miele-own service technicians.

And, for the first time, the range of products on display at Miele's IDS booth will include commercial washing machines and tumble dryers. These are used to wash and dry workwear in special disinfection programmes in less than two hours to standards prescribed by RKI (Robert Koch Institute) and VAH (Applied Hygiene Association) guidelines. Users can choose between an 85°C thermal disinfection cycle with a 15-minute temperature holding time and three chemo-thermal disinfection programmes. These models with load capacities of 5.5 and 6.5 kg are marketed under the Little Giants logo and can even be stacked on the space-saving footprint of a single machine, requiring no more than 0.5 m² in total.
