Dryer-dryer stack from Miele Professional: twice the performance in a compact space

Gütersloh/Hannover/Essen No. 006/2026
  • Cost-effective solution for cleaning in hotels

  • Heat pump dryers use propane as environmentally friendly refrigerant

High throughput and cost-effectiveness in a confined space: A new dryer-dryer stack from Miele is combining these properties. The dryers are ideal for cleaning in nursing homes and retirement homes.

Miele uses two heat pump dryers from the ‘Little Giants’ series for the appliance ensemble. They are securely installed with a connection kit, each offer a drum capacity of 130 litres and dry two loads of eight kilograms of laundry in just 77 minutes*. Their energy consumption is approximately 50 per cent lower than that of vented dryers. This minimises operating costs and protects the environment.

The ‘Little Giants’ are also sustainable in other respects. Miele uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant propane. Compared to synthetic refrigerants such as R134a, which are still standard in commercial heat pump dryers, it has a significantly lower impact on the climate. The use of propane reduces the global warming potential (GWP) of Miele tumble dryers by 97 per cent. In addition, the appliances are designed so that they can be largely recycled at the end of their service life, and recyclable and renewable materials are also used for the transport packaging.

One advantage in daily use is the ease of operation: a rotary selector switch, symbol panel and a plain text display with 29 stored languages make it easy to select programmes, allowing new staff and career changers in particular to quickly familiarise themselves with the machines. Miele has optimised the appliances ergonomically: a large door opening (370 mm) with a 167° opening angle and an illuminated drum make loading and unloading easier. The easily accessible filters are patented for easy maintenance and to ensure the best possible protection and high performance of the heat exchangers.

Connecting to the Miele MOVE Connect digital platform can increase efficiency, as it allows operators to keep an eye on utilisation and consumption data at all times. This reduces operating costs in the long term and optimises the intervals between maintenance cycles.

The heat pump dryers are manufactured in accordance with ISO standards 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001. The Ecovadis Silver Award 2025 underlines the high level of environmental and social responsibility.
