Commercial heat-pump dryers save up to 60% electricity Dryers for professionals– economical in use and optionally available as slimline versions

If cleaning textiles are to be placed in intermediate storage, say over the weekend, and not used again immediately, they obviously have to be thoroughly dried to, for example, prevent any bacterial growth. To meet these needs, Miele Professional also has a line of tumble dryer with facility management programmes on board in a range of model versions: from heat-pump dryer to machines with a slim build for use in confined spaces.

The two heat-pump dryers with drum volumes of 250 and 325 l are able to reduce electricity consumption by up to 60% and also do not need any vent ducting. Thanks to low process temperatures, these machines dry mops and
cloths made both from cotton and microfibres particularly gently. The PT 8257 with a drum volume of 250 l has a load capacity of between 10 and 13 kg; the PT 8337 WP – at 325 l – is even able to cope with 13 to 16 kg. Both models excel in terms of short cycle times: 10 kg of mops and cleaning cloths are completely dried in only 44 minutes.

Each heat-pump dryer operates on the principle of a closed circuit: Damp, warm air from the tumble dryer is passed through a heat pump where it is both cooled and dried. This is followed by a second heat exchanger, where the air is reheated in readiness for the drying process once again. The closed air circuit obviates the need for vent ducting. This, in turn, means that there are no hidden costs for expensive pipework. Similarly, as there is no air discharge outside the building there is no risk of smells or sound emissions annoying neighbours and the risk of structural damage through moisture condensation on the outsides of buildings is banished.

Cooling and desiccating the process air releases energy which is utilised to heat colder, dryer air. In contrast to vented and condenser dryers, this technology recuperates a good deal of the energy, returning it to the drying process. This saves electricity, protects the environment and goes easy on both budgets and textiles. This results from the fact that the temperature of the process air can be kept very low thanks to very thorough dehumidification. This guarantees top-class and gentle laundry care and is a boon particularly to microfibre mops.

Patented PerfectDry moisture sensing system

This is further enhanced by Miele's patented honeycomb drum and the new SoftLift drum ribs, both features unique to Miele. Gently rounded edges ensure that laundry is not subjected to any harsh treatment. As such they constitute part of the patented, electronic moisture sensing system referred to as PerfectDry which gauges the dryness of laundry and ensures spot-on cut-off points. Models from the SlimLine range also feature sensor drying and SoftLift drum ribs. Thanks to their slim build and footprint, models from this range fit through standard doorways with ease. With a width of 71 cm, they take up a footprint of less than 1 m². Despite their reduced size, they nevertheless excel in terms of performance, offering a drum with a volume of around 300 l. SlimLine dryers are able to process 12 to 15 kg of laundry in a single cycle. This allows around 220 kg of laundry to be processed during an 8-hour day (based on 16 cycles per day, each with 13.6 kg of laundry and an initial residual moisture of 50%).

The SlimLine models, which represent an attractive price proposition, are available as electric or gas-heated versions and offer a choice of 3 easy-touse sets of controls. The PT 8303 features Profitronic B Plus sensor controls, offering 12 programmes for various textiles and residual moisture stages. The drying temperature can be reduced during a current programme cycle at the touch of a button.
