Economic lab glass reprocessing – with compact technology

Gütersloh/Munich, May 10, 2016 No. 030/2016

PG 8535 and PG 8536: Innovative features and special programmes

Two 90 cm wide washer-disinfectors for laboratories offer economic reprocessing of equipment along with precision and safety. Both units from Miele Professional feature technical highlights previously the preserve of only much larger modern decontamination units and washer-disinfectors.

Both models offer all that is needed for top-level laboratory glassware reprocessing. Both units feature for example an integrated 'Perfect Speed Sensor' spray arm monitoring device which records the precise speed of spray arms during operation. This feature avoids loading errors and detects a buildup of foam during a programme cycle which would otherwise result in impaired cleaning performance.

The freely programmable controls offer a selection of standard and special programmes. These include an 'Oils' programme specifically designed to remove all types of oils and greases as well as a pipettes programme for the thorough and reliable cleaning of narrow lumens. Thermally sensitive plastics are given perfect treatment in a special low-temperature programme. Thanks to liquid dispensing systems, these machines significantly reduce the everyday workload in laboratories and ensure that only the amount of process chemicals needed for perfect results is used. Powerful circulation pumps transporting water at a rate of 400 litres per minute on the PG 8535 or even 600 litres a minute on the PG 8536 ensure thorough cleaning and disinfection. 'Perfect HEPA Drying' brings each reprocessing cycle to a hygienic close.

The self-explanatory Perfect Touch display with local-language graphics offers at each programme stage for simple and safe programme selection at the user's fingertips. The glass surface of the display is completely flush and smooth and therefore ideal for cleaning and wipe disinfection.

With a height of 82 cm, the built-under PG 8535 can be accommodated even in smaller laboratories. Despite its compact size, this unit offers sufficient capacity for 37 narrow-necked glasses or 96 pipettes. The capacity of the 117.5 cm tall PG 8536 is significantly higher, offering room for up to 66 narrow-necked glasses. Various mobile units and inserts are available for combinations of laboratory glassware. With this model, Miele is setting technical standards in the entire compact unit market. As an optional extra, the maintenance-free Perfect Pure Sensor conductivity system reliably detects residue in the rinse cycles, adding additional water intake cycles where necessary. The patented Perfect Flow Sensor dispensing controls system, also optional, ensures that the precise quantity of chemicals is dispensed, irrespective of the type and viscosity of the fluids. The washer-disinfector is fitted as standard with a network interface for process data documentation.
