More power, less consumption: extra-large washing machines from Miele Professional

Gütersloh/Berlin, September 23, 2025 No. 085/2025
  • With capacity for up to 35 kilogrammes for cleaning textiles

  • Increased efficiency thanks to compact heaters and weighing plinth

From early 2026, Miele Professional will be expanding its range for industrial cleaning with extra-large, network-enabled washing machines. The machines with load capacities of 27 and 35 kilogrammes are part of the Benchmark series, and as well as processing large quantities of cleaning textiles in a short time, they enable considerable savings compared to the previous generation. This range also includes washing machines from nine to 20 kilogrammes and tumble dryers from ten to 44 kilogrammes.

The new PWM 927 (27 kilogramme load-capacity) and PWM 935 (35 kg load-capacity) washing machines are among the most powerful in their class. The largest machines can now clean up to 292 microfibre mops or 1,100 wipes weighing 16 grammes each.

A g-factor of over 500 boost Spin provides high spin-drying efficiency and cleaning textiles with low residual moisture: ideal conditions for up to 16 percent less energy consumption and water savings of up to 18 percent in the standard programmes for mops. A machine with a load weight of 35 kilogrammes can therefore save up to 1,500 euros a year, depending on regional electricity and water prices and with consistent use of the mop programmes. Additional efficiency is ensured by an optional weighing plinth, which automatically records the load quantity, thus enabling further savings of water and energy.

Innovations that pay off

Other innovations that pay off in day-to-day operations: highly compact heaters that reduce the minimum water level required in the drums from 21 to 17 centimetres – this alone reduces running times and water consumption. In addition, the water runs in faster than ever before thanks to reconfigured valves. A 3D sensor, already a tried-and-tested quantity in the smaller devices in the "Benchmark" generation, detects imbalances, protects against overload and enables high speeds. The patented honeycomb drum 2.0 is equipped with dirt slots that quickly carry coarse particles from the drum interior into the drainage system.

The washing machines are equipped with a stainless steel front and impress with over 90 washing programmes, which are grouped into industry specific packages, such as special programmes for mop and wipe reprocessing. The patented Miele pre-drainage process is an integral part of all washing programmes for cleaning textiles. It spins coarse dirt and contaminated water out of the mops before the washing process begins, so that more fresh water flows in during the main wash. At the end of the programme, pre-preparation with detergents and disinfectants can be selected as an option so that the clean textiles can be used again immediately. The "Extras" menu item enables adjustment of programmes before starting, for example residual moisture for mops and cloths.

Full-touch colour display for easier programme selection

Within the "Benchmark"-range, the programmes are also adapted to individual requirements. Depending on the application, the full-touch colour display then becomes either a complex or a very simple operating unit – in more than 30 languages that operators can select intuitively at every stage of the programme. Coloured frames make it easier to select the programme: for example, red applies to the red cloths for cleaning sanitary facilities, which should always be disinfected. The smooth, easy-to-clean display interface is also responsive when the user is wearing work gloves.

All machines are prepared for networking with the "Miele MOVE Connect" digital portal. Trained staff can, for instance, view the operating data and find out how much laundry was reprocessed with the respective machines and what quantities of water and energy were required for this. Another useful feature is the connection to dosing systems, which enable automatic and economical dosing of the process chemicals.

The new washing machines have proven their efficiency in endurance washing tests. They are designed for 30,000 operating hours. Miele only uses high-quality materials in production at its Lehrte plant in Germany.
