The handover will take place on January 1, 2024
Frank Jüttner has been in the employment of the Miele Group for almost 32 years in a variety of positions and has headed Miele's German sales subsidiary since 2013, currently responsible for around 1600 employees and sales of € 1.25 bn (2022). Since 2019, he has also been responsible for the DACH sales region. Several months ago, he was however forced to take time off from his work for health-related reasons. It has since transpired that it will take several additional months before Jüttner will be able to resume his tasks in full.
'After careful consideration and with a heavy heart, I have decided not to return to my current post', says Frank Jüttner. Priority must now be given to a full recovery whilst at the same time Miele Germany and the DACH region need sustainable leadership which is fully capable of acting. Jüttner continues: 'I would like to thank all colleagues as well as our partners in the trade for their commitment and support over all the years and would like to wish them the continued success they deserve'. He will assume other tasks at Miele in the fullness of time.
The Executive Board has designated Christian Gerwens as Jüttner's successor as Managing Director of Miele Germany and as Senior Vice President of the DACH region. Gerwens has been in the employment of Miele since 1990 and is currently head of the central function 'Sales and Retail International'. After assuming several managerial functions in Sales in Germany, he next set up Miele's sales subsidiary in Germany in 2003, which he then led for 10 years before being succeeded in this role by Frank Jüttner. Thereafter, Gerwens was responsible for the AMANZA sales region, covering America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, before assuming his current position in 2019. As an interim measure, Gerwens has already entered his future role in deputising for Frank Jüttner. A permanent handover will take place on January 1, 2024. Christian Gerwens will continue to be responsible as Senior Vice President Sales and Retail International alongside his new duties.
'On behalf of the entire Executive Board, I would like to thank Frank Jüttner for his many years of commitment and his exceptionally successful activities in the interests of our company and our brand', says Dr. Axel Kniehl, Executive Director Marketing and Sales with the Miele Group. 'We respect but greatly regret his decision to relinquish his current position, but, above all, we would like to wish him a speedy recovery'. He hopes to soon be able to welcome Frank Jüttner 'back to our ranks'.
Turning to Christian Gerwens, Kniehl expresses his gratitude for his willingness to assume considerable additional responsibility. 'Given his broad sales expertise in Germany and on the international stage, Christian Gerwens brings with him the best of prerequisites to successfully and sustainably shape his new double role. Gerwens, in turn, thanks for the trust placed in him as expressed in this appointment and looks forward to his new tasks in a familiar place of activity: 'In the face of the continued tense market situation, there is plenty of work ahead in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; but we are well positioned to jointly rise to the associated challenges and grasp the opportunities which present themselves together with our partners in the retail trade'.
