Gold for Miele in the EcoVadis sustainability ranking

Gütersloh, February 18, 2026 No. 013/2026
  • Strongest contribution to the overall result: 96 out of 100 points in the environmental category

  • Miele ranks among the top two percent of companies evaluated worldwide

  • Success thanks to cross-departmental cooperation

Miele has been awarded the gold medal by EcoVadis, one of the leading independent specialists in corporate sustainability ratings, for its achievements in the field of sustainability. With a total of 84 out of a possible 100 points, the family-owned company is now among the top two percent of all companies rated by EcoVadis worldwide. The rating underscores Miele's consistently implemented sustainability strategy.

With 96 out of 100 points, Miele performs particularly well in the area of environmental protection. The EcoVadis scorecard confirms the company's outstanding achievements in areas such as environmental management, energy and resource efficiency, climate protection, comprehensive certifications, and quantitative environmental targets. This focus area thus makes the strongest contribution to the overall result.

The Gütersloh-based family business also achieved very good results in the other categories, such as 86 points in labor and human rights and 83 points in sustainable procurement. The ethics category shows significant further development, particularly through the continued expansion of compliance structures, corruption prevention, data protection, and information security.

Impressive results thanks to cross-departmental cooperation

This excellent result is the outcome of a long-term sustainability project and close, cross-departmental cooperation within the company – reinforced by the consistent development of internal expertise. “The EcoVadis Gold Rating is confirmation of our holistic approach to sustainability and a great recognition of the outstanding work of the cross-project team,” explains Rebecca Steinhage, Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs. “As a responsible family business, we have been committed to sustainable management and innovative solutions that create lasting added value in people's lives for generations.”
