Innovative Steelco solution: Maximum protection in low-temperature sterilisation
Riese Pio X/Gütersloh/Düsseldorf, November 13, 2017No. 117/2017
Hydrogen peroxide sterilisation
Complex surgery is driving the development of delicate instruments that are not suitable for steam sterilisation and increasing the need for low-temperature sterilisers. Steelco offers both VHP (Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide) and formaldehyde technologies, with VHP PL70 and PL130 units on display at Medica 2017.
Available as single or double-door pass-through models, PL 70 and PL 130 sterilisers are free-standing plug-and-play units with respective chamber capacities of 82 l and 147 l using proven low-temperature VHP technology. Three validatable programmes lasting 28, 45 and 62 minutes are available, depending on instrument and material types. The PL 70 has an instrument capacity of 5 kg and the PL130 of 10 kg.
Single-shot chemistry with RFID security ensures that the correct cartridge is used before its expiry date. Multiple safety systems monitor that the parameters necessary for sterilisation are achieved whilst protecting users. Examples of this are the standard UPS (uninteruptible power supply) feature or the dual safety systems of plasma generator and catalyser to ensure that only water and oxygen are discharged, without any toxic residues being released to atmosphere.
The user interface features either a 7” or 10” intuitive colour touch display. An integrated printer allows relevant process data to be archived, giving users the possibility to also export data and connect to the SteelcoData instrument traceability system.
Both chemical and biological indicators are available as well as Type 1 sterilisation tape.
