Miele at Altenpflege 2023: Digital and sustainable solutions for kitchens and laundries

Gütersloh/Nuremberg, February 14, 2023 No. 012/2023
  • Reliable protection against bacteria with MasterLine fresh water dishwashers

  • Laundry machines with new entry-line series and slimline dryers

Connectivity solutions for kitchen and on-premise laundry as well as new machines ensuring hygienic, safe and sustainable processes: At the Altenpflege age-care show in Nuremberg, Miele is to present a comprehensive portfolio of products for care and nursing homes (April 25-28, Building 7, Booth C 58). One focus will be on the Miele MOVE portal which allows the new fresh water dishwashers and laundry machines to be managed 'on the fly' and which makes tried-and-tested technology even more efficient.

Hygienically clean crockery combined with short cycles is what fresh water dishwashers from Miele's MasterLine range stand for, using as they do an intake of fresh water in each programme phase and operating at high temperatures. This removes soil and 99.999% of most bacteria. In addition to this, this model series excels in terms of its above-average virucidal efficacy as confirmed by the Gold Seal of the Institute for integrative Hygiene and Virology, InFluenc_H. In addition to this, the model PFD 407 has been awarded the Black Seal which defines even higher standards. This model with its Vario TD programme offers thermal disinfection, otherwise only the preserve of the medical sector, removing more than 99.99% of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses (for example Corona, Influenza and the Norovirus).

Via their large touch display, MasterLine dishwashers are intuitive to use and can be operated by gloved hands – via text, symbols and in 32 languages. All models can be connected to the Miele MOVE online portal. A glance at a PC, smartphone or a tablet is sufficient to check up on the status of all connected machines. Process data (for example, temperatures and cycle times) can be saved with Miele MOVE and, if required, exported. This allows, for instance, users to furnish proof that hygiene programmes completed successfully. And there's another practical feature: The simple ordering of detergents and other chemicals via a direct link to the Miele Professional online shop.

New entry-line class of Benchmark laundry machines

Catering for on-premise laundries, Miele will be presenting a comprehensive portfolio of products at the Altenpflege show, including washing machines and dryers from The New Benchmark Machines. These models are also connectivity-enabled and ready for connection to the Miele MOVE portal. From the summer of 2023, these will be joined by a new entry-line class with load capacities of 9 to 11 kg, offering top-class cleaning performance combined with low consumption. Compared with previous machines in the same size range which Miele previously sold as Octoplus models, the new washing machines save around 1 l of water per kg of load, some models even more.

These newcomers are on offer from Miele, along with the larger machines, in two model series: Performance Plus stands for flagship units with a stainless-steel front, over 90 wash programmes and freely programmable controls. Performance line models are recognised by their iron grey fronts and, with their 38 programmes, now offer a significantly expanded set of features. These include for example programmes for bedding and curtains.

Aimed at laundries where space is at a premium, Miele will be presenting the new SlimLine range of dryers in Nuremberg. With their intuitive controls and iron grey fronts, these machines complement the current laundry machines in terms of design and are also connectivity-enabled. With a width of only 71 cm, these machines take up a footprint of no more than 1 square metre. Depending on the heating type, they cater for loads of between 11 and 16 kg (previously 10 to 15 kg). Alongside gas and electric, heat-pump dryers are also available which use 60% less energy than their conventional electrically-heated counterparts.

Further information on products and services, including for example financing and leasing plans, will be provided live and in the ProConcept brochure from Miele, copies of which will be available at the booth.
