Miele at Labvolution: Connected machines for greater efficiency and sustainability in the laboratory

Gütersloh/Hanover, March 30, 2023 No. 035/2023
  • Miele MOVE online portal connects laboratory glasswashers with mobile devices

  • New SlimLine washers adjust pump power to needs of process stages

Miele to present innovative products again at Labvolution exhibition in Hanover from May 9 onwards. New connected laboratory glasswashers from the SlimLine generation will be centre-stage with their larger chamber and the EasyLoad system guaranteeing simpler loading combined with greater flexibility and increased capacity. The Miele MOVE online portal will also be presented live with a laboratory glasswasher connected to a PC or mobile device – making it obvious at a glance whether reprocessing has successfully completed (Building 20, Booth A 60).

With a width of only 65 cm, Miele laboratory glasswashers from the SlimLine series are the ideal fit when lots of laboratory glassware has to be washed clean where space is limited. On the new PLW 7111 generation, intelligent technology adjusts pump power to the needs of the various programme stages. This guarantees speed during the cleaning phase and uses no more water in the rinse cycle than is absolutely necessary. Whilst still producing comparable results, these models use up to 15% less water than the previous generation.

The size of the chamber on the new series is larger than before, offering a 15% increase in volume compared with models from the previous series. Thanks to the EasyLoad system familiar from previous series, capacity can be further increased, above all in the case of frequently used laboratory glassware: As a result, 192 bottles (100 ml) can now be washed in a single cycle, 66 more than previously the case. The baskets and modules in which load items are automatically and correctly positioned can be combined individually – including a holder for a 50 l carboy.

Laboratory glasswashers from the new SlimLine series and undercounter models from the PG 85 series can be connected to the online Miele MOVE portal. This links machines to a PC, smartphone or tablet and ensures that relevant notifications can be called up on mobile devices, reminding users, for example, when a dishwasher is ready for unloading. This dispenses with unnecessary legwork and helps organise daily work more efficiently. Also helpful: Via a direct link to the Miele Professional online shop, consumables such as process chemicals can be reordered without any fuss before stocks run low.

Besides this, Miele MOVE facilitates the monitoring of important process data such as temperatures and cycle times. This data can also be exported fast and saved to the digital platform. And here's another practical aspect: Consent permitting, fault messages can also be sent direct from the laboratory to a designated contact in Miele Service or to a certified Miele service agent, without having to pick up the phone.
