Miele expands its range of headroom cooker hoods

Gütersloh/Cologne, January 19, 2015 No. 005/2015

A boon to tall persons

Following the highly successful market launch of the DA 6096 Black Wing and White Wing headroom hoods, Miele is now shifting up a gear: Its 90 cm wide models are to be joined by two further versions in widths of 60 cm and 80 cm, opening up new design opportunities in the kitchen.

The sloping canopy on this headroom hood creates more space above the hob, accommodating the needs of taller persons. The new models bear the designations DA 6066 (60 cm wide) and DA 6086 (80 cm wide) and are available as Black Wing or White Wing versions. The descriptive title refers to the colour of the canopy, which is made from single-ply safety glass in obsidian black or brilliant white. A special aspect of this series is that these models can virtually always get by without the need for a chimney section, thanks to their compact design.

Black Wing and White Wing each feature two energy-efficient and long-life LED downlights and can be operated either as vented or recirculation units. Miele also offers a chimney section which is only necessary if vent ducting has to be routed upwards towards the ceiling. All Black Wing and White Wing models are B-rated for energy efficiency according to the new EU energy labelling scheme for cooker hoods which came into effect in January 2015.

Despite its shape and compact form, there is no need to forfeit the quality features so typical of Miele: The multi-ply metal grease filters can be removed and cleaned in a dishwasher. The visible layers are made from stainless steel which retains its pristine looks even after many years of use without showing the least signs of discolouration. The area behind the metal grease filter is lined with what Miele refers to as a CleanCover. This provides a smooth internal surface which is easy to clean and prevents exposure to electrical components and the fan.
