Miele presents itself as being 'Inspired by life' at IFA

Gütersloh/Berlin, July 8, 2015 No. 083/2015

World's first networked dispensing system / Coffee machine serving perfect tea / 'Brandenburg Gate' made from 39 washing machines

Miele's IFA 2015 motto is even greater convenience, pleasure and networking. Exclusive new products and features will include the world's first networked detergent dispensing system and a coffee machine which will appeal to discerning lovers of fine tea. These will be joined by a new undisclosed technology which makes for laid-back cooking. 'Inspired by life' is the befitting slogan welcoming guests to a large booth covering 3000 m² (Hall 2.1).

This year, an almost 5 m tall and 8 m wide 'Brandenburg Gate' consisting of 39 Miele washing machines will greet visitors. This way, Miele will combine the landmark of the city of Berlin with the company's most traditional product group. The central umbrella theme spanning the entire portfolio of new products and features is provided by the 'Inspired by life' motto. 'Our current IFA highlights illustrate once more how product developers and designers at Miele contribute towards making people's life just that little bit nicer and simpler', Frank Jüttner, Managing Director of Miele's German sales subsidiary, explains. 'Consumers provide the decisive inspirations we need to meet their needs'.

An outstanding aspect in this respect is EditionConn@ct: When the washing machine runs short of detergent, Miele's TwinDos dispensing system automatically sends a message via the Internet to the user's smartphone or tablet – allowing replacement to be ordered with just a few clicks (cf. Press release No. 082/2015). 'Miele customers', Jüttner continues, 'are set to profit from our dual leadership in the fields of dispensing and networking.' A strong response is likely to be solicited by the new CM7 countertop coffee machine, too, with its automatic descaling and hot water delivery at different temperatures for various types of tea. Details on another new product announced in the field of hob units will be unveiled at the IFA event. Further products from the cooking, dishwashing, washing and vacuum cleaning product groups will round off the product portfolio.

White as the dominant colour combined with the playful use of sloping lines and geometric forms add dynamism and modernity to Miele's overall presence. During the entire trade show, live cooking events offering tasty titbits will take place at the stand in a bid to convey new functions and the pleasurable experience Miele offers to its users. In addition to this, stage shows in the event area will combine the benefits of new Miele appliances with diverting entertainment.

As in previous years, the stand is divided into a space for specialist dealers and an area open to the general public. The dealers' area will house the Miele Café seating 250, offering a retreat for in-depth discussions in a relaxed atmosphere and an opportunity to chill out after a long, hard day at the trade show. Frank Jüttner: 'This year is no exception to the tradition of inviting our guests to bring their day to a pleasant close with good fare and live music with Miele.'
