Induction offering much more in terms of performance and convinience

For customers needing to cook on a big scale, Miele is offering three new 90 cm induction hob units. These excel in terms of their high power rating, flexibility in use and – as the icing on the cake – offer the Con@ctivity 2.0 convenience function.

Models KM 6388 (with onset stainless-steel frame) and KM 6389 (for flush countertop installation) feature up to five rings, four of which boast PowerFlex technology. PowerFlex rings can be linked in groups of two to give rectangular zones, facilitating for instance the use of a large casserole dish. Alternatively, individual rings can be combined to form a single large ring. This is ideal when cooking in large oversized pans. Another special feature of PowerFlex technology from Miele is the extremely uniform transfer of heat to the base of pots and pans. This is achieved through the virtually gap-free arrangement of induction coils below the ceramic glass screen. This steady transfer of energy to the food creates the ideal conditions for perfect cooking results. The fifth ring has a diameter of 28 cm and features the WaterBoost function with a maximum output of 5.5 kW for extremely fast heating.

The third new hob unit with the model designation KM 6381 is something out-of-the-ordinary and not only in terms of its looks and elegantly bevelled glass edges replacing the more traditional frame: What is most striking is the reduced depth of the glass screen which results from the fact that the four PowerFlex zones are arranged in a row. This so-called panoramic hob offers hugely practical benefits: As pots and pans sit side-by-side on the unit, a good view is guaranteed into even the deepest of pans. The KM 6381 perfectly complements Miele's Levantar downdraught extractor - both in terms of functionality and design.

When it comes to convenience and safety, all three models are Con@ctivity-enabled, allowing pre-emptive communication between hob and hood and letting the cooker hood know in advance what is going on down on the hob below. Information on ring settings is relayed between the two appliances using RF technology. There is no need for intervention on the part of the user and the hood is switched on and off and suction power regulated automatically. Installation is extremely simple: Each Con@ctivity-enabled cooker hood is supplied with an RF transmitter which is simply plugged into the Miele hob unit.

The high-end features on these hob units are further complemented by DirectControl, where each ring has its own run of numbers for selecting power settings, simplifying the assignment of rings to controls. The high-end features on these hob units are further complemented by DirectControl, where each ring has its own run of numbers for selecting power settings, simplifying the assignment of rings to controls.
