Miele Professional at the Expo Detergo in Milan

Lehrte/Milan, August 6, 2014 No. 088/2014
Expo Detergo 2014

Cost savings through more energy-efficient dryers, faster flatwork ironers and campaign prices

Visitors to the Miele Professional booth at the Expo Detergo in Milan (October 3-6, 2014) will experience a new generation of flatwork ironers live - offering the ultimate in user convenience combined with a compact size. Information will also be available on the most energy-efficient tumble dryer technology available, capable of cutting electricity consumption by up to 60%. Campaign prices for laundry technology are yet another reason to visit the Miele stand (Hall 2, Stand L 01, M 10).

The three new flatwork ironers, due to be launched in mid-October, are ideal for small to medium-size laundries on account of their working widths of 100 cm and 166 cm. All are height-adjustable and easy to operate via a new touch display. This allows ironing speed and temperature to be precisely regulated, achieving a much higher throughput than on the previous range of models. The largest PM 1217 is even designed to process 60 kg of laundry per hour and can, if required, be operated by two persons, one each on the infeed and outfeed sides. Fast switch-over between return- and throughfeed operation affords great flexibility in everyday work and is a feature exclusive to Miele on ironers of this size. Applications for patents have been submitted. The two smaller ironers are designed for single-person operation.

Alternative heating methods such as solar-thermal heat, district heat and the use of co-generation plants are gaining significance worldwide. To serve this market, Miele Professional is offering specially designed tumble dryers which drastically cut energy costs. These H2O dryers can be heated by an economical alternative central heating source. If the water used to cool a co-generation plant is used, dryer operation is virtually cost-free. These dryers are available in a variety of sizes with load capacities ranging from 10 kg to 32 kg.

Miele heat pump dryers achieve energy savings of 60% and excel with short cycle times: A 10 kg laundry load is dried in only 44 minutes. These operate with a closed air circuit and do not therefore require any vent ducting.
And this year, costs can be further cut with campaign models launched by Miele Professional to mark 90 years of laundry technology as various promotions are set to run at the end of 2014: As a token of gratitude for all customers who have made this success story covering washing machines, tumble dryers and flatwork ironers possible.
