How the Duoflex HX2 turns three tasks into one: Miele’s cordless handstick vacuums, mops and cleans itself

Guetersloh/Berlin, June 30, 2026 No. 049/2026
  • One appliance for daily situations: from mopping to a handheld unit for upholstery and furniture in a matter of seconds

  • Better hygiene thanks to automatic emptying, hair removal and a self-cleaning system

First vacuum, then mop, followed by cleaning the brushes and emptying the dust container – floor care often involves far more steps than you might think. At the same time, customers are looking for solutions that adapt flexibly to everyday life and save time. With the Duoflex HX2, Miele is introducing the second generation of the Duoflex range. The appliance vacuums, mops and cleans itself – thereby turning three steps into one.

With these new appliances, Miele is strengthening its position in the growing market for cordless stick vacuum cleaners and wet cleaning solutions. In Western Europe alone, sales of cordless stick vacuum cleaners with a mop attachment have risen by an average of more than 20 per cent per year over the last four years. “Our new generation is an important step towards further expanding our expertise in cordless stick vacuum cleaners. With innovative technologies, an attractive entry-level price and a clear focus on convenience and hygiene, we’re appealing to new target groups. At the same time, we’re making features that were previously found mainly in Miele’s premium segment accessible to a much wider range of customers,” says Mark Siva, Senior Vice President of Small Domestic Appliances at Miele.

Dry and wet cleaning in a single operation

Whether it’s breakfast crumbs and spilled drinks in the kitchen or pet hair on the sofa: everyday life presents a wide variety of cleaning tasks. Instead of first reaching for the vacuum cleaner and then the mop, the Duoflex HX2 models with the AquaTurbo wet cleaning tool are all you need. They pick up dry crumbs and damp dirt in a single step and quickly ensure clean floors.

The AquaTurbo mop cleaning tool with counter-rotating rollers provides added convenience. The opposite rotation of the rollers creates a kind of floating effect, allowing the appliance to glide effortlessly across the floor and significantly reducing the effort required for wet cleaning.

From mopping the hallway to quickly cleaning upholstered furniture as a handheld appliance: thanks to the SpeedLock system, the Duoflex HX2 transforms from a wet cleaner to a handheld appliance in a matter of seconds. This ensures a clean and hygienic home – in every everyday situation.

Better hygiene – even after cleaning

It’s not just the floor that gets cleaner. Maintaining the appliance itself is also made much easier.

With Miele’s first self-cleaning station** for cordless stick vacuums, the dust container empties automatically. The dust is collected in a dust bag. This means manual emptying isn’t necessary for up to 90 days***.

Anyone who has ever had to carefully cut hair out of a brush or clean dirty wet rollers knows how much effort it takes to maintain these appliances. The Duoflex HX2 Comfort Aqua takes care of this work for you: it automatically removes hair from the brush (AutoCut) and cleans the wet rollers itself (AutoClean) – in the designated self-cleaning station in each case. This reduces contact with dust, hair and dirt to a minimum and ensures a consistently hygienic cleaning experience.

Greater convenience for everyday life

The new generation of the Duoflex offers up to 50 per cent**** longer runtime, enabling you to clean larger areas with fewer interruptions for recharging. In handheld mode, the cordless stick vacuum runs for up to 70 minutes. The various power levels can be conveniently selected via the display, whilst the remaining runtime is always clearly visible. In addition, the automatic floor type detection adjusts the cleaning performance to suit different floor surfaces.

With its new colour scheme, the new Duoflex HX2 blends harmoniously into modern living spaces. Colour options such as Sand Beige, Fjord Blue and Lemon Yellow are inspired by contemporary interior design trends and emphasise the appliance’s homely character.

High-quality materials, metal accents and the interplay of matt and glossy surfaces create a modern, premium look. The continuous BrilliantLight LED light strip also defines the appliance’s striking design, while simultaneously making dust and dirt visible even in darker areas.

“With the Duoflex HX2, we’re demonstrating what modern floor care can look like today. Features such as our AquaTurbo technology for particularly effortless wet cleaning, automatic emptying and the self-cleaning system combine convenience, hygiene and performance at a whole new level. The result: less effort, less contact with dirt and more time for the finer things in life,” says Siva.

The market launch in Europe is scheduled for spring 2027.
