New basket for bottles: Hygienic cleaning in Miele tank dishwashers

Gütersloh, September 9, 2020 No. 055/2020
  • Accommodates 8 bottles with a maximum height of 37.5 cm

  • Docks onto water supply via injector nozzles

Reusable glass bottles are increasingly used in hotels, restaurants, public institutions and further education – for example to serve juices at a breakfast buffet or offer welcoming drinks. To meet this demand, Miele is now offering a basket for use on three undercounter tank dishwasher models, allowing bottles, jugs and other large hollow items to be reliably washed both inside and out.

Machine-based dishwashing is not only more efficient than washing by hand - it also guarantees certified hygiene in accordance with the DIN SPEC 10534 standard for commercial dishwashers. Eight bottles with a maximum height of 37.5 cm are securely accommodated in the new basket. It features injector nozzles which spray water into each individual bottle for full and complete coverage of all surfaces. Connection to the internal water supply is via an adapter supplied with the basket and replaces the lower spray arm in the machine.

All standard programmes on a tank dishwasher can also be used to wash bottles and jugs, including short programmes with cycle times of less than 1 minute. With integrated spray arm and filter monitoring, these machines feature additional safety functions which provide an early warning of potential faults and indicate these in the machine display. The bottle basket is easily fitted, allowing crockery, pots and pans, cutlery and glassware to be washed in one and the same unit.
