New from Miele Professional: network-enabled laboratory washers with chamber lighting and enhanced user convenience

Gütersloh, April 22, 2025 No. 042/2025
  • Undercounter machines with glass door option and touch display in two versions

  • Honoured with the iF Design Award 2024

Network-enabled, equipped with an illuminated wash cabinet and available in two series with different features: Miele Professional’s new undercounter machines being launched in mid-May 2025, in widths of 60 and 90 centimetres, reprocess laboratory load items with analytically clean results and come with equipment that is more user friendly than ever before. The machines also feature intuitive operation thanks to a new touch display. Two systems are available for the subsequent drying process.

The design of Miele Professional laboratory washers stands up to demanding requirements and has received the renowned iF Design Award 2024 even before it has been launched on the market – not least thanks to the wash cabinet lighting that is supplied as a standard feature for easy loading and unloading. The machines are available in a white or stainless steel version, and the top-of-the-range models measuring 90 centimetres wide are even available with a glass door: so users can keep an eye on their laboratory glassware at all times during the wash cycle.

The PLW 8604 ExploreLine offers a wide range of standard features including a touch display that simplifies many processes in everyday use. The other machines are available in the ExpertLine series, whose display can be controlled using the M Touch Flex feature for added convenience and even allows the cleaning status to be read from a distance of several metres. Additionally, the display provides laboratory staff with digital support for routine tasks they can carry out themselves – with the aid of visual elements which help them to use the machine, resolve problems on their own and thus reduce downtimes. 24 programmes are available for pasteurising or thermal disinfection, for example, and an additional five free programme slots are provided for individual requirements. The “Extra short” programme is able to clean laboratory glassware in just 25 minutes.

Monitoring functions for reliable programme sequences

A patented variable-speed pump adjusts the water pressure as needed, while a spray arm and spray pressure monitoring feature keeps an eye on the programme sequence being performed and detects blockages caused by large vessels and pipettes, for example. The proven EasyLoad accessories system provides a simple, automatic way of positioning load items correctly using appropriate load carriers.

Two drying systems support the optimised workflows. In addition to machines with active drying, models with the AutoOpen function are available: this enables the door to open automatically at the end of the programme once the temperature in the wash cabinet has reached a safe level. This allows the residual air to dissipate in a short space of time and the laboratory glassware dries quickly. In most of the machines, a steam condenser conveys any moisture remaining in the wash cabinet outside.

All new laboratory washers are network-enabled as standard. They can be connected to PCs, tablets or smartphones using the free Miele MOVE Connect software, in which it is possible to view and manage performance, programme and consumption data.

To ensure reliable availability in daily work at the laboratory, core components are located in positions that are easier for Miele Customer Service to access than in the previous generation. This significantly reduces the time required for maintenance work. Having been designed to work for at least 15,000 operating hours and with spare parts availability at least of 15 years, Miele Professional laboratory washers are sustainable and reliable team members for day-to-day operations.
