Powerful, energy-efficient – and incredibly quiet

The new S8 Silence Plus Allergy vacuum cleaner achieves sound emissions of as little as 69 dB(A). This makes it another 2 dB(A) quieter than Miele's previously quietest model thanks to a further reduction in sound power output. As a member of the S8 flagship series which Miele introduced last year, this vacuum cleaner leaves nothing to be desired in terms of quality, handling and cleaning performance. It will be available on the German market in autumn.

The S8 Silence Plus Allergy features a particularly energy-efficient and specially sound-proofed 700 W motor. This makes it not only extremely quiet but also very environmentally friendly: Even today, it meets the requirements for achieving the top A energy-efficiency rating which is due for introduction on September 1, 2014. At the same time, it guarantees the excellent cleaning performance on the S8 which Miele customers have come to know and love. This is achieved through the motor's high efficiency factor in combination with the AirTeQ floorhead which was specifically designed to cater for the needs of energy-efficient motors.

With the new HEPA AirClean filter, this soft-spoken representative from the Miele range is also an ideal proposition for allergy sufferers. This filter is a HEPA Class 13 filter which achieves 99.95% filtration and holds back even the most minute particles and pollen. New, too, is Miele's TimeStrip which provides a timely reminder of the need to replace filters. Activating the indicator is as simple as pie: when fitting a new filter, the user simply presses on a green arrow. This results in a red indicator fluid slowly creeping across the scale from left to right. After approximately one year, the fluid reaches the right-hand end of the strip and the user is prompted to replace the saturated filter.

The S8 Silence Plus has electronic suction power control which is selected at the +/- footswitches on the machine. To ensure smooth running, these models are fitted with DynamicDrive castors with rubberised and inflated tyres as well as shock absorbers. An operating radius of 11 metres ensures great flexibility during vacuum cleaning.

The highly convenient cable rewind – simply tap on the footswitch once – draws in the cable smoothly and reliably.
