Slender, flexible and capable of accommodating even larger loads: New SlimLine laboratory glasswashers from Miele

Gütersloh/Munich, June 21, 2022 No. 049/2022
  • EasyLoad system for safe and simple loading with laboratory glassware

  • Smart pump technology for shorter cycles and reduced consumption

With a width of only 65 cm, Miele laboratory glasswashers from the SlimLine series are the ideal fit when lots of glassware need washing where space is limited. From the beginning of 2023, the new PLW 7111 generation will be available with a larger chamber and the EasyLoad system for simple loading, greater flexibility and a higher capacity. Furthermore, intelligent technology adjusts circulation pump capacity – guaranteeing speed during the main wash and saving water in the rinse cycle.

The chamber on the new series has been enlarged, offering a 15% increase in volume compared with models from the previous series. Thanks to the EasyLoad system familiar from previous series, capacity can be further increased, above all in the case of frequently used laboratory glassware: As a result, 192 bottles (100 ml) can now be washed in a single cycle, 66 more than previously the case. The baskets and modules in which load items are automatically and correctly positioned can be combined individually – including a holder for a 50 l carboy. Glassware in a variety of shapes and sizes is cleaned thoroughly on the inside, even when placed directly over the end of injector nozzles.

For the first time, all four levels are now fitted with telescopic racks for identical baskets. Consequently, there is no longer any need to differentiate between lower and upper baskets. Only a very limited number of baskets is sufficient to cover the full range of everyday requirements – with up to three load baskets in four possible positions.

Maximum adjustment to the various process stages is facilitated by smart pump technology: Higher speeds in the main wash ensure higher pump capacity, resulting in intensive cleaning and shorter cycle times. During the rinse cycles on the other hand, a lower speed suffices. The result is a saving of up to 15% water compared with the previous generation whilst achieving the same high level of results.

Depending on the model, the new laboratory glasswashers come with a pre-heated tank which heats the water during the main wash in readiness for the final rinse. This reduces the cycle time and increases throughput.

On all versions, three additional canisters with 5 l of chemicals can be conveniently stowed away in an integrated drawer. A loading height of 85 cm enables the machine to be operated ergonomically.

A clear benefit in daily use: the new controls with a 7" colour display and on-board connectivity. The all-glass door in combination with integrated chamber lighting provides at-a-glance status control: White indicates a running programme, red denotes a warning and green means the SlimLine washer is ready for unloading.
