Special-purpose ‘Safety’ washer from Miele: networkable, with chamber lighting and excellent user convenience

-
Under-sink appliances with touch display and up to three dosing pumps
-
With hot air drying and special programmes for breathing masks
Miele now offers two new, networkable upright washers for the safe and simple reprocessing of breathing masks. Their colour touch display is intuitive to use and the illuminated washing chamber of the 60-cm-wide appliances makes loading easier. The PLW 8683 Safety and PLW 8693 Safety models can be equipped with suitable baskets for breathing masks and air regulators – for maximum protection during cleaning and subsequent drying.
The new display shows the current status of reprocessing, even from a few metres away. It also provides the breathing apparatus manager with digital support for routine tasks that can be carried out independently – with visual elements that make operation easier, provide “help for self-help” and can reduce downtime. Eight programmes are available, for example for cleaning and disinfecting heavily and lightly soiled breathing masks or reprocessed items that come into contact with mucous membranes.
Each cycle has space for two baskets per batch: Either for one basket each with six breathing masks and six air regulators or for six air regulators in two baskets. The latter solution is ideal if a washing machine is used to reprocess the masks. If the wash cabinet is fully utilised, the new safety models can also be used to clean and dry a carrying rack for self-contained breathing apparatus.
Control functions for reliable programme sequences
Rinse with fresh water in every programme phase. A patented, variable-speed circulation pump adjusts the water pressure as required. A spray arm and rinse pressure control monitors the progress of each programme and detects blockages caused by large items, among other things. Up to three dosing pumps ensure an economical and automatic supply of cleaning agents and disinfectants.
Two drying systems support the optimised work processes. In addition to appliances with DryPlus hot-air drying, models with an AutoOpen function are also available. The door opens automatically at the end of the programme as soon as the temperature in the wash cabinet has reached a safe level. As a result, the remaining air escapes within a short time and the breathing masks dry quickly.
All new washers can be networked ex works. They can be connected to a PC, tablet or smartphone using the free Miele MOVE Connect software. The performance, programme and consumption data can be viewed and managed from there.
To ensure reliable availability in everyday use, central components are located in positions that are easier for Miele Service to reach than with the previous generation. This significantly reduces the time required for maintenance work. Designed for at least 15,000 operating hours and with spare parts that are available for 15 years, the new washers from Miele are sustainable and reliable partners in everyday life.
