Best wash performance thanks to PowerWash, TwinDos and CapDosing / New Miele dryers now exclusively with heat-pump technology/ Two design lines 

Miele is set to present washing machines and tumble dryers at the IFA trade show which will set new standards with respect to cleaning performance, gentle fabric care and user convenience. On washing machines, the ground-breaking world exclusive feature is a process to ensure improved circulation and drenching. This will be joined by automatic on-board dispensing systems which, likewise, are only available from Miele. All washing machines will sport an A+++ for energy efficiency, will have a load capacity of 8 kg and will spin at 1600 rpm. All dryers will feature Miele's energy-saving heat-pump technology. The new W1 and T1 model ranges are due to be launched immediately after the IFA trade show.

Technically speaking, the heart and soul of the new PowerWash process, which has been confirmed by the leading wfk Institute in Krefeld to improve cleaning performance by at least 10%, is a second pump in the form of a circulation pump. In combination with a special drum rhythm and rotational speed, detergent penetrates the load deeper and faster. In addition to this, Miele is for the first time offering a wash programme under the title QuickPowerWash which despite lasting less than 1 hour still achieves thorough cleaning.

A further contribution towards the effective use of detergent comes from TwinDos, the automatic dispensing of liquid detergent, an integrated system which can achieve detergent savings of up to 30%. TwinDos operates in two stages: The first detergent (Miele UltraPhase 1) removes soiling such as grease and protein before the second detergent (Miele UltraPhase 2) sets to work on stubborn stains such as those caused by red wine and coffee. The amount dispensed in each case is dependent on the type of laundry and the load size. Thanks to this two-phase system - available exclusively from Miele – superb cleaning results are not only achieved on coloureds but also on whites. At the same time, TwinDos is an open system also able to dispense conventional liquid detergents and fabric conditioners from other manufacturers.

The CapDosing, or capsule dispensing function, is also both efficient and convenient: This facilitates the precise use of convenient special-purpose detergents, additives or fabric conditioner in capsules placed into the fabric conditioner compartment of the detergent dispenser. Equally so, the dispenser can also be used with conventional detergents (for further details on PowerWash, TwinDos and CapDosing. cf. Press Release 2013-114).

Miele is also reaffirming its leadership in the field of gentle fabric care: The legendary patented Miele honeycomb drum has undergone further substantial developments. Thanks to its optimised sculptured surface and broader channels between the hexagons, even greater care is taken of delicate garments whilst the new Pre-ironing option removes wrinkles at the same time. This reduces the impressions left by drum holes as well as the risk of laddering whilst at the same time cutting down the time spent ironing ('Pre-ironing' option, cf. Press Release 2013-116).

Ecology is another core topic on the new series: All washing machines from the W1 series and one T1 dryer model feature the new ProfiEco motor. This brushless, permanent-magnet technology is not only powerful, maintenance-free and quiet, it is also particularly energy-efficient – and therefore achieves an A+++ rating for energy efficiency and an A rating for spin efficiency.

T1 dryers harmonise perfectly with Generation W1 washing machines and ensure spot-on drying thanks to Miele's tried-and-tested PerfectDry system which perfects moisture sensing by taking into account the mineral content of the water contained in laundry. The exclusive FragranceDos feature lends a pleasantly fresh fragrance to laundry and is available in 'Aqua', 'Cocoon' and 'Nature'. The new SteamFinish function on tumble dryers is the ideal preparation for ironing and, depending on the type of fabric, may even dispense with the need for ironing altogether. The honeycomb drum on the tumble dryer also has larger hexagons and new drum ribs to ensure improved drying and gentler fabric care.

The new ProfiEco motor is so energy-efficient it even achieves an A++ rating. And, what's more, the EcoFeedback indicator, which has become a familiar feature on Miele washing machines, now helps users to get a better handle on tumble dryer energy efficiency. In addition to indicating consumption, these machines also feature a lint filter indicator as a clean filter reduces both consumption and cycle times (cf. Press Release 2013-117).

Washing machines and tumble dryers from Miele are available in two design lines: ChromeEdition with its chrome-plated door ring has a more classic appearance. WhiteEdition, on the other hand, is intended to appeal to customers with a penchant for modern, contemporary design. With its bowed front and expansive white surfaces, this design line looks more the part of a piece of modern, functional furniture rather than being a utilitarian machine. Dryers from both lines feature a see-through door, a rotary selector on the right-hand side and a centred display, guaranteeing a harmonious design signalling high quality. Navigation in the new display makes the user interface experience even simpler and more intuitive – despite the fact that the new washing machines and tumble dryers offer a broader range of functions.

And, finally, Miele has made no concessions whatsoever when it comes to its own proverbial quality standards. Washing machines and tumble dryers from the new W1 and T1 series are designed and tested to last 20 years. This is achieved through the use of choice, well-built componentry which only Miele uses, for example a high-grade stainless steel outer drum, cast-iron counterweights or an enamelled front panel. The Miele dryers excel in terms of their low evaporation losses (A-rating for condensation efficiency) and short programme cycles.

Together with the Generation 6000 built-in appliances introduced in early 2013, these laundry-care appliances from the W1 and T1 series represent the single-biggest product offensive in the history of the Miele company.
