New Miele built-in appliances sport a whole host of exclusive features

The new Generation 6000 built-in appliances promise a range of new technical features offering greater convenience, better performance and unique consumer benefits. Here are the main technical highlights

M Touch – a wall oven that emulates a smartphone

A double cappuccino at the touch of a single button, finding the desired automatic programme on a steam cooker in an instant or selecting the operating mode and temperature in just a few simple steps before baking – all extremely elegantly and simpler than ever before with the new M Touch controls from Miele. M Touch stands for a high-resolution TFT colour display (thin-film transistor) on flagship models, reminiscent of smartphones and tablet PCs. The menu is browsed by swiping or scrolling with the tip of a finger. Alongside intuitive user interaction, M Touch offers a range of special features: As high-end models are most likely to include a large number of automatic programmes, Miele has now incorporated a search function to simplify matters. Using a virtual keyboard, the user simply types in the first letter of a word, for instance B for Beef, and is presented a list of all entries containing the term from which to select. My Miele is a new entry in the Miele world. This menu option allows the user to create a personalised profile containing frequently used operating modes and automatic programmes which are then readily accessible as soon as a machine is switched on.

Optimum results with MultiSteam

MultiSteam is the highlight on the new Miele steam ovens. This technology is predestined for use on models with a large capacity: Water from the tank is pumped into a powerful steam generator located behind the inner cabinet. The steam is admitted through 8 inlet ports (6 on combination steam ovens). Benefit: Heat-up times are short and the fast, uniform distribution of steam paves the way for perfect results. MultiSteam technology is a Miele USP and, as such, immediately recognisable. Steam ports are integrated into a module on the rear panel inside the oven. The MultiSteam symbol and the Miele logo are discreetly illuminated by LEDs (depending on the model).

Knock2Open – Knock two times and you'll love me!

Lovers of minimalistic kitchen design have been waiting for a sensation like this for some time: Miele Knock2Open dishwashers open up a whole new range of design possibilities in handleless kitchens. Tapping twice on the cabinet front opens the dishwasher door as if activated by an invisible hand. This door opening system, patents pending, is available from Miele on fully integrated dishwashers in two model categories from the new Generation 6000 series.

Perfect crema thanks to CupSensor

The fascinating CupSensor is a veritable highlight on the new flagship built-in coffee machines. This feature automatically adjusts the height of the spout to the size of cup or glass. No matter whether tall latte macchiato or delicate espresso cup – with the CupSensor rim detection, delivery is always at the ideal position. This virtually eliminates the problem of spluttering and milk and coffee splashes. Furthermore, the crema is perfect and coffee does not cool down as fast. The CupSensor even reacts precisely to beverages involving milk froth by raising the spout by 1 cm after delivering milk froth to ensure that the spout itself stays clean.

FlexiLight – unobtrusive lighting for refrigeration appliances

The Generation 6000 product family also comprises new built-in refrigerators. These models (K 30.000 series) are set to stun when the door is opened, thanks to the exclusive FlexiLight glass-edge lighting. LED light sources, affixed to the front edges of glass shelves, immerse the cabinet in a pleasant and uniform light. Each individual shelf level has electrical contacts, allowing FlexiLight shelves to be repositioned at pleasure within the unit. This is practical in particular when space has to be created for, say, a large gateau.

PyroFit makes oven cleaning even simpler

Pyrolytic ovens with PyroFit accessories are now even more cleaning-friendly. Whereas side racks, the combi rack and FlexiClip telescopic runners had to be removed prior to pyrolytic cleaning (in which soil is incinerated to ash), these accessories can now remain in the oven as they are resistant to extremely high temperatures. This saves considerable time and effort.
