Performance and inner cabinet impressed Stiftung Warentest

Miele cools fastest. According to Germany's leading consumer watchdog Stiftung Warentest, this applies at least in comparison with a total of 14 built-in refrigerators for a variety of recesses. Miele's model for an 88 cm wide niche achieved top marks and ranked among the two test winners in its category in the recent consumer test.

The K 5224 iF-1 raked in good marks in particular for its refrigeration capacity. According to the editorial comments, the machine cools food down 'very fast'. Temperature maintenance in the freezer compartment was also very good. Positive comments were also forthcoming for the use of space and the interior lighting. In the 'Cooling' category, this brought Miele the top mark of 1.5 as well as a 2.2 in the 'Freezing' category. Overall, the Miele machine was awarded the top mark for models in this category of 2.2.

The fully integrated refrigerator is above all ideal for smaller households. The useable capacity of the refrigerator compartment is 117 l; the 4-star freezer compartment offers 17 l of space. This model has a top A+++ energy rating and consumes only 101 kWh of electricity per year.

Electricity consumption on refrigerators has experienced huge drops over recent years. On comparable models, Miele has been able to reduce electricity consumption by 48% since 2000. Given such low consumption and the life expectancy of a Miele machine, the replacement of an older refrigerator with a new energy-saving model represents a meaningful investment.
