Award-winning – Three Miele induction hobs net design prizes
-
Experts laud the flexibility of TwoInOne models for modern kitchen design
- Full-surface induction hob offering ample space and elegance
Miele induction hobs are exceptional in terms of both functionality and design. This has been confirmed by the jury of the iF Design Award and the RedDot Design Award. Two hobs with an integrated extractor (TwoInOne) and a full-surface induction hob were each double winners. Both awards count among the world's most coveted prizes of their kind.
The elegant TwoInOnes, highly sought-after products when designing open-plan kitchens, are both powerful and quiet in operation. Their reduced design is characterised by the central air intake with a grille set in the ceramic glass screen. This feature, in particular, convinced the jury of the Red Dot Award and allows pots and pans to slide freely. The grille on the rectangular air intake blends in seamlessly with the design of the hob. Depending on the model, the grille is either completely black (KMDA 7272 Silence) or has discreet brushed stainless-steel slats (KMDA 7473 Silence).
Both hobs feature 4 rings, whereby two rings (Flex zone) on the KMDA 7473 Silence can be joined to give a racetrack burner, for example for an oven dish, a Gourmet griddle or a Teppan Yaki. The TwoInOne hobs offer maximum flexibility in contemporary kitchen design according to the iF Design Award assessment. This is further supported by the shallow installation depth of the units which means that only the top drawer in the base unit below is sacrificed as well as by simple and fast Plug&Play installation. As a result, these induction hobs meet the highest demands placed on aesthetics and functionality, the jurors continue.

A further recipient of the iF and the Red Dot design prize was the KM 7897-1 FL Diamond full-surface induction hob. As many as 6 pots, pans and oven dishes can be placed anywhere on the 90 cm wide hob unit and move around freely. This guarantees untold freedom during cooking. Moreover, the ceramic screen on the hob unit features a special coating: DiamondFinish is one of the hardest surfaces on the market and hence particularly scratch-resistant. The Red Dot jury took a particular fancy to the unit's low-key appearance: 'When the frameless hob unit is not in use, the controls are invisible. This results in a subdued and uniform look'. The iF team of jurors highlights the restrained radiance which lends these hobs an additional touch of elegance.
