They are the specialists in reprocessing mops and cleaning cloths: connectivity-enabled washing machines and dryers from Miele with load capacities of 6 to 20 kg, better known as 'Mop Star'. They are able to accommodate more cleaning textiles than ever before. All machines can be purchased outright, rented or leased, and equipped with useful accessories. Miele's booth at the CMS in Berlin provides an overview of the portfolio of products, on display at Cleaning.Management.Services (CMS) in Berlin (September 19-22, Hall 4.2, Booth 132).

All Mop Star models, designed to reprocess cleaning textiles, will be presented, from compact washing machines and dryers with load capacities of 6 to 8 kg (Little Giants) through to models for 9 to 20 kg (Benchmark). Miele also offers models with a capacity of 32 kg as well as barrier washing machines for installation in a diaphragm wall.

In the Benchmark series, the load capacity of standard programmes and programmes offering thermal disinfection has been increased by around one-third compared with previously: In the largest models, up to 167 mops or 625 cleaning cloths weighing 16 g each are now washed clean. With programme running times remaining unchanged, this alone reduces the costs of electricity, water, detergent and disinfectant.

The heart and soul of these machines are controls which adapt programmes to individual needs. Depending on the application, the full touch colour display can, say, be set to offer a full complement of programmes and parameters or, alternatively, to be incredibly simple – in more than 30 languages. Colour-coded frames simplify the selection of programmes: red, for example, for the red cloths used for cleaning bathroom facilities which must therefore always be disinfected. The smooth, easy-to-clean display even responds to gloved hands.

Simple adjustment of programmes prior to start

The 'Extras' menu option allows programmes to be modified before use. This includes for instance the residual moisture value for mops and cloths. Miele's patented pre-spin process remains an integral part of wash programmes for mops and cleaning cloths. Starting the wash process with a spin cycle has the effect of removing coarse soil and dirty water, allowing a greater volume of fresh water to enter the machine in the main wash. At the end of a programme, load items impregnated with detergent and disinfectant come out ready to use. 

All new Benchmark machines are pre-prepared for connection to the Miele MOVE portal. Contract cleaners and facility managers can use this app on a PC, smartphone or tablet to, for example, view operating data and see when machines are finished. Furthermore, Miele Service is accessible fast and a link to the Miele online shop allows detergents to be reordered with ease.

Visitors to the Berlin trade show can inform themselves of rental and leasing terms and conditions, allowing laundry machines to be financed on fixed-rate plans. Rental contracts can be ended prematurely – if, for example, clients pull out of cleaning contracts. Optionally, a rental contract can also cover service calls, including all spare parts, vandalism and operating errors. And if a machine has to be relocated during the term of a contract, Customer Service will ensure that washing machines, dryers and accessories are dismantled and reinstalled at the new site. This makes for a smooth transition without downtimes.
